Learning Opportunities for High School and College Students!

21st Annual National Service-Learning Conference — Inspire. Imagine. Innovate!

Held March 24-27, 2010 in San Jose, California, this event celebrates service-learning as a force that spans cultural and national boundaries, builds communities, and strengthens young people.

The conference is the largest gathering of youth and practitioners involved in service-learning, drawing approximately 2,500 attendees from across the United States and many other countries each year. Through three days of general sessions, thought leader series, service-learning projects, and networking, the conference engages participants in the local, national, and global issues that service-learning addresses. Come explore more than 100 exhibits, and nearly 150 hands-on workshops and service-learning projects.

Microcredit Summit 2010, in Nairobi, Kenya

MFIConnect, an online hub for student microfinance opportunities, would like to invite college students to the Microcredit Summit 2010, in Nairobi, Kenya. MFI Connect ( is a new and growing website that is focusing on social networking and grassroots campaigns to facilitate collaboration between microfinance institutions and university students.

In coordination with Sam Daley-Harris, director of The Microcredit Summit Campaign, MFI Connect is working to bring a delegation of passionate students to the 2010 Africa/Middle East Regional Microcredit Summit from April 5 - April 11, 2010*. The MFI Connect experience includes field visits, panel sessions, workshops, brushing shoulders with inspiring microfinance professionals, and the chance for MFI Connect members to meet and work together as students supporting microfinance. MFI Connect is also working with Sam Daley to create a special student session with Muhammad Yunus (Grameen Bank) and Ingrid Munro (Jamii Bora Trust). The more students can come, the more likely we'll be able to hold this session!
