Some explanation:
We looked at some data that showed where people were looking and clicking on the homepage, and we found that not a lot of people pay much attention to the list of entrepreneurs below the fold. What's more is that the main "Featured Entrepreneur" wasn't getting the attention (i.e. number of clicks) that you would guess.
Now, that's a shame since the most intriguing information we have on the Kiva site is about the entrepreneurs. And the entrepreneurs do the best job of explaining what Kiva is. So, Jonathan, one of our engineers decided to try and promote the information about those entrepreneurs a bit more by mixing up the page.
I won't tell you what we did; you'll have to see that for yourself. But we think this change is a definite step towards making our homepage a lot more fun while still telling the Kiva story very clearly.
