Week in Review: Let's talk about amplifying your impact

The Week in Review is designed to keep Kiva's fans and lenders up to date with news on microfinance, global development and all things Kiva from the previous week.

Lending feels good. Amplifying your impact feels even better. Again and again, our lenders tell us how good it feels to connect and lend. So this week, as part of our celebration of International Women's Day, we are offering $25 Free Trial loans. Since women are already more likely to invest in their communities and families, inviting a new lender to invest in a woman more than doubles that impact!

Talking, sharing, and connecting are all ways to make a bigger difference. So when a group of influential female leaders and activists from around the world all gather in one place, we pay attention. For the third year, Newsweek and The Daily Beast are hosting the Women in the World Summit with inspiring speakers like Christine Lagarde, Sheryl Sandberg, Meryl Streep and Hillary Clinton. Together, they'll talk about women's achievements, and the hurdles they continue to face in working toward equality and empowerment. You can watch the livestream of the event here, which continues through Saturday.

One of the panel discussions yesterday was about women in positions of power. It tackled interesting questions like: What can we do to get more women to the top? Has the women's movement stalled out? What issues do ambitious women face?
