Race4Change.org is a philanthropic organization that harnesses the popular exposure of sporting events to raise funds for the economic empowerment of women in Africa. This year, the Race4Change team will run three classic Porsche 911s on the East African Safari Rally from November 19th to 28th, to advocate for the use of microfinance as a tool for the advancement of African women.
The brainchild of financial entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. Steven Funk, Race4Change.org has been using the popular platform of East African rallying since 2009 to raise awareness of microfinance. Dr. Funk hopes that the story of his four champion drivers, including former World Champion Björn Waldegård and four-time US champ Travis Pastrana, on the notoriously difficult event will attract support and donations on the Race4Change website: the aim being that everyone from motoring enthusiasts to microfinance advocates can be drawn in, and help to make a difference.

All donations go directly to the Race4Change partner microfinance organisations: Kiva, Women’s World Banking, Kenya’s Jamii Bora and the Microcredit Summit. Nothing goes towards rallying, and every cent given is tax deductible! What could be better than having fun while changing the world? Go Race4Change!
