The Latin American portfolio team is delighted to welcome Edpyme Alternativa to the Kiva family!! Operating out of the northern city of Chiclayo in Peru, Edpyme Alternativa is a regulated organization that has been working in the region for over 8 years. Their mission is to "Improve the living condition of its borrowers by supporting their entrepreneurial activities, generating employment in the small and micro enterprise sectors, and strengthening the financing for sustainable and profitable business in the region."
Edpyme Alternativa will be using Kiva funds to help expand their offering in rural and peri-urban areas where access to financial services is extremely limited. They will be also be using their funding to offer borrowers funded on the Kiva website a preferential interest rate.
