Thanks to everyone who voted for us, Kiva.org was runner-up for a Crunchie Award in the category of "Most Likely To Make The World A Better Place"! The winner was GoodGuide, a great organization that provides the world's largest and most reliable source of information on the health, environmental, and social impacts of the products in your home.
Fiona and I attended the awards ceremony on Friday night, and it was an honor to even be mentioned alongside the biggest names in Silicon Valley. Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and Kiva :) It was especially cool when they read out Kiva's name in the list of nominees for our category - the entire audience burst into a spontaneous round of applause! It felt wonderful to know that some of the most influential people in the tech industry are into what we're doing. I just wish all of our users, borrowers and staff members could have been there to witness it.
