Kiva.org today raised its ONE MILLIONTH DOLLAR for the developing world.
This marks a major milestone for the organization, and demonstrates that real change can be created by average individuals who want to make a difference.
Kiva.org would like to thank our 13,000 users who have contributed, $25 at a time, to lending ONE MILLION DOLLARS to entrepreneurs in the developing world. Kiva.org would also like to thank our Field Partners who have worked so hard to connect our lenders with their entrepreneurs, believing that the internet can be a valuable tool to help people rise above poverty. Finally, we would like to thank our many volunteers who work tirelessly, and without whom we could not achieve all that we do.
